Here at Biztory, we were beyond excited when Tableau announced the Extensions feature at the Tableau Conference in 2018. Our team immediately got to work dreaming up ways to enhance dashboard experiences for the Tableau community. We are proud that the extensions we have released into the Tableau Extensions Gallery are among the most downloaded and most used.

That’s why we are particularly grieved by a technical issue that started Friday afternoon, January 3rd. As we migrated our DNS to Google’s Cloud DNS, something broke. We believed we have resolved the issues, yet some customers — perhaps due to DNS caching — are still experiencing issues using our extensions. We are deeply sorry for this inconvenience.

If you are impacted by this issue, here are steps that have proven effective in resolving this:

  1. Flush your local DNS cache: https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/articles/227988627-How-to-clear-the-DNS-Cache-on-a-computer-and-web-browsers-
  2. If this does not resolve the issue, check your system’s DNS settings: https://www.wikihow.com/Check-DNS-Settings
  3. If your DNS is set to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4, change these to 1.1.1.1. This is Cloudflare’s public, secure DNS, and we have found in our testing that every customer with this issue was able to resolve it by using an alternate DNS provider.

If you are still experiencing issues and would like our help getting back up and running with Biztory’s Extensions for Tableau, please contact us and we’ll get back to you ASAP to work through this with you. Once again, we apologize for this inconvenience.
