Zorg-Lokaal partners with municipalities across the Netherlands to support local citizens navigating social support and youth care. Their mission: help municipal governments use data not just for reporting but for smarter, faster decisions about care delivery.
Yet their existing dashboard solution was custom-coded and inflexible, demanding heavy manual upkeep and offering limited interactivity.

Envisioning Embedded Analytics for Municipalities
Rather than simply providing static reports, Zorg-Lokaal aspired to embed analytics directly into their service offering—so that municipalities could explore benchmarks, drill into relevant metrics, and share insights with stakeholders through ready-made dashboards.
To realize this vision, they selected Tableau as the visualization platform and engaged Biztory to help with implementation, training, and crafting the calculations behind the dashboards.
Building a flexible, client-facing solution with embedded analytics in Tableau
The first step was migrating away from the rigid, custom code base to a platform driven by Tableau, where the user experience could be more responsive and maintainable.
Biztory worked closely with Zorg-Lokaal’s team to build dashboards and embed them into the municipalities’ workflows—allowing users to filter, benchmark, and drill into the data most relevant to them.

From static reporting to an embedded predictive insight engine
With the embedded dashboards in place, municipalities began using them not just for reporting but for decision support—spotting trends, comparing across regions, and identifying areas in need.
Looking ahead, Zorg-Lokaal is exploring more advanced capabilities, including machine learning to forecast future care costs and expanding dashboards beyond social support into adjacent domains.
